The course, offered by AARP Driver Safety, is the nation’s first and largest refresher course designed specifically for drivers aged 50 and older.
This classroom instruction is scheduled for September 26th and 27th 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a two-day class and participants must attend both days to receive their certificate. The class will take place in the lower conference room of the Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging, 520 W. Front Street, Traverse City, MI.

Diabetes Personal Action Toward Health (PATH) is an evidence-based workshop that empowers people to take an active role in managing diabetes. Interactive education and weekly goal-setting activities help participants build healthy lifestyle skills.
Workshops meet for 6 weeks, in 2 1/2 hour sessions each week. Adults of all ages may attend, including adults with pre-diabetes, Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, family members and caregivers.

Volunteers will help residents verify their registration status, assist with voter registration forms, and give out absentee ballot request forms.

Complete Count Committee training for the 2020 census will take place Thursday, September 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Governmental Center Training Room in Traverse City.
Training, hosted by Grand Traverse County and conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau, will assist area non-profits and local units of government identify and reach out to members of the community that might not otherwise be counted. An accurate population count is important to the distribution of funds and helps our community plan for future needs.
Non-profit organizations interested in participating in the training are welcome to attend.

The annual community-wide recycle, repurpose and reuse event provides locals an opportunity to divert, from their waste stream items which have salvageable components or further use, and bring them to a central collection point for proper recommissioning and subsequent repurposing. The Clean Up and Green Up event is free for residents of Grand Traverse county and neighboring counties, alike.
